Some daytime television shows that have long been aired have also risen to pop culture status, if not because of their quality then because of their ubiquitous presence in our youth backgrounds.

Examples include Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and (in the UK) Coronation Street.

Malaysia also has its own popular television show called Drama Sangat, which is popular because of its dramatic and exaggerated plot.
